Talvane Sobreira graduated in Dentistry in 1985 from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). Shortly after, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he began his specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, completing it in 1986. Since then, he has been actively practicing surgery in both private clinics and public health services.
He founded and led several traumatology services, including the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Hospital Santa Isabel in João Pessoa, established in 1991 during the FUSAM (Municipal Health Foundation), and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Senador Humberto Lucena Emergency and Trauma Hospital, also in João Pessoa, PB.
Dr. Sobreira has also been a professor of Traumatology and Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the Federal University of Paraíba, professor of Surgery and Oral Surgery Specialization at UNIPÊ’s School of Dentistry in João Pessoa, and coordinator of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program at ABO-PB (Brazilian Dental Association – Paraíba chapter). He has published works in respected journals within the medical and dental community.
Throughout his career, he has participated in nearly 200 professional development events, including congresses, courses, and national and international conferences. He has delivered over 100 lectures and presentations in cities such as São Paulo (SP), Rio Quente (GO), João Pessoa (PB), Recife (PE), Natal (RN), Fortaleza (CE), Campina Grande (PB), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG), Salvador (BA), as well as internationally in Asunción (Paraguay), Cartagena (Colombia), Montevideo (Uruguay), La Paz (Bolivia), and Panama City (Panama).
